Measurement Conversions .
Let's see, I have 6500 gallons and I need to add 3 drops per gallon... How much is that really? Well, I've done some digging in some of my engineering handbooks and some experimenting and have come up with some conversions to answer just that question and a bunch of others. I hope this will help you as much as it helps me... There isn't any magic to any of these tables. They just take a little time with a calculator.

Let's first start with the really small measures.

Now we can look at some of the larger measurements.

Example - 1Gallon = 8 pints
Tsp. Tbsp. Cup Pint Quart Gallon Oz. c.c. Litre
1 Teaspoon = 1 0.3 0.02 0.01 - - 0.17 4.9 -
1 Tablespoon = 3 1 0.66 0.03 0.02 - 0.05 14.8 -
1 Cup = 48 16 1 0.5 0.13 0.06 8 236.6 0.24
1 Pint = 96 32 2 1 0.25 0.13 16 946.3 0.47
1 Quart = 192 64 4 2 1 0.25 32 946.3 0.95
1 Gallon = 768 256 16 8 4 1 128 3785.3 3.79
1 Liquid Ounce = 6 2 0.13 0.06 0.03 - 1 29.6 0.03
1 Mililitre (cc) = 0.20 0.07 - - - - 0.03 1 -
1 Litre = 202.88 67.63 4.32 2.16 0.95 0.24 33.82 1000 1
Cells with a dash (-) in them have values that are either too big or too small to mess with, use a different measure.

Finally a few other conversions.

7.5 gallons = 1 cubic foot.
1 gallon of water weighs approx. 8.3 pounds
1 cu. ft. of water weighs approx. 62.4 pounds! (Think about that when you're considering an above ground pond.)
1 GPM (gallon per minute) = 60 GPH (gallons per hour) I know, it's pretty obvious, but you'd be surprised at the e-mail I get.
1 CFM (cubic foot per minute) = 448.8 GPH
And lastly, remember that when you double the diameter of a pipe, you increase the capacity by about 4 times!

Now for a few miscellaneous conversions...
1 million microphones = 1 megaphone
1 million bicycles = 2 megacycles
2000 mockingbirds = two kilomockingbirds
10 cards = 1 decacards
1/2 lavatory = 1 demijohn
1 millionth of a fish = 1 microfiche
453.6 graham crackers = 1 pound cake
10 rations = 1 decoration
10 millipedes = 1 centipede
3 1/3 tridents = 1 decadent
10 monologs = 5 dialogues
2 monograms = 1 diagram
8 nickels = 2 paradigms
2 baby sitters = 1 gramma grampa
